March – Easter in Andalusia

Our next convenient travel opportunity falls over the long Easter weekend. And if it’s Easter, there’s nowhere better than Andalusia! This region of Spain celebrates Holy Week in a big way, making it the perfect cultural immersion.

Andalusia, though mainly thought of as a resort destination, offers so much more than the Costa del Sol’s beach bars. The grand celebration of Semana Santa is even livelier here than the traditional bullfights! Spectacular Easter processions in Seville and Malaga delight and amaze with their sheer scale and intrigue – what stories are hidden under the hoods of the mysterious nazarenos? This year, skip the chocolate eggs and celebrate the true essence of Easter in Andalusia!

Hot on the heels of Easter comes the May long weekend, and where better to go than the city that never sleeps, New York? There are plenty of attractions and places to visit in this iconicAmerican metropolis that is like nowhere else on Earth.

An undoubted advantage of New York is its well-developed and reliable public transport, including the subway network. Thanks to this, you can discover the city on your own terms and at your own pace. During the day, be sure to visit the majestic Statue of Liberty, the legendary Empire State Building and New York’s green oasis, Central Park. In the evening, head to Manhattan’s bustling Times Square or watch a musical on Broadway!

August – Adventurous Abu Dhabi

August brings one opportunity for an extra day of leave, but it’s also prime tourist season. So, where to go for a long weekend in August? Swerve the crowds at the typical tourist destinations and head for a desert escape in awe-inspiring Abu Dhabi.

With a flight time of around seven hours, why not book an overnight flight to arrive rested and ready to maximise your time on the ground in Abu Dhabi? Culture vultures can head straight from the plane to the Louvre’s Middle Eastern outpost. Here, you can feast your eyes on masterpieces by da Vinci, Vermeer and Van Gogh. Prefer your feasts edible? Abu Dhabi is a gourmand’s paradise, with no less than four Michelin-starred restaurants, alongside countless casual dining options from all around the world.

If you’re visiting with kids, you’ll be pleased to hear that the emirate is home to a number of world-class water parks that will keep tiny travellers cool and captivated. Round off the family fun with a trip to the Etihad Stadium, where you can catch everyone’s favourite cartoon canine – Bluey – live in action on 30 August.

December – end of year holidays and a tropical New Year’s Eve in Phuket

December 2024 promises to be very attractive for travellers. Christmas and Boxing Day (December 25-26) both fall mid-week, as does New Year’s Day.
